Job Overview: The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in our client's organization by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting practices. This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will be instrumental in supporting the financial health and compliance of the organization, a Veteran-owned weapons supplier to the Department of Defense. Key Responsibilities: Maintain general ledger data in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies. Participate in the preparation and review of audit materials and work papers for internal and external audits. Perform account reconciliations and prepare monthly accruals. Assist with year-end reporting and the monthly close process, including associated reporting. Maintain the fixed asset list within the ERP system. Review and reconcile corporate credit card transactions. Investigate and resolve general ledger account discrepancies. Assist with inventory account reconciliations. Identify areas for process improvement and cost savings. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable government and commercial contracts. Assist other departments with resolving issues related to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system. Perform cost analysis for strategic decision-making. Utilize Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, to set up queries, enter data, and process information. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting is required. Experience with DCAA/DCMA audits is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system is highly desired. International accounting and multi-company accounting experience is a plus. Skills: Strong technical knowledge of GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Certifications: None required, but relevant accounting certifications are a plus. Knowledge: Understanding of government and commercial contracts terminology and clauses. Familiarity with international accounting practices is a plus. Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. Additional Information: The position requires occasional travel. Comfortable working with Mac OS. Physical demands include long hours sitting and using office equipment, as well as the ability to transition from sitting to standing positions.
