Salary: $42,000.00 Annually Location : East St. Louis, IL Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 00357 Division: Univ Services to ESL Department: Univ Services to ESL Opening Date: 09/13/2024 Closing Date: 10/14/2024 11:59 PM Central FLSA: Exempt Description We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Program Counselor on a full-time, flexible schedule to meet the needs of our clients. The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, schedule, and implement individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing barriers to employment and educational needs of program participants. This position requires administering non-academic program assessments, maintaining organized participant files, and supporting the completion of post-secondary applications, financial aid, and scholarship processes. Additionally, the role involves coordinating workshops on financial literacy, personal and professional development, and other relevant topics, as well as assisting in job search activities and placement into on-the-job training or paid work experiences. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, schedule, and conduct individual and group counseling sessions focusing on social, emotional, personal, and psychosocial matters for program participants. Provide information and guidance to support successful job entry, retention, and post-secondary education entry of participants. Attend and assist in planning program activities, including workshops on Financial Literacy, Personal and Professional Development, life skills, job search strategies, educational tours, and securing financial assistance from partnering agencies. Develop employment and educational plans tailored to each program participant's needs. Maintain participant schedules, administer pre-assessments, provide advising sessions, and conduct workshops and activities as needed. Offer consultation and intervention as necessary to support program participants in achieving their goals.
