Position: Children's Mental Health Clinician - Per Diem in Chautauqua County The Children's Mental Health Clinician provides in-home and community-based services to Medicaid enrolled youth ages 0-21 under the Medicaid State Plan Service Other Licensed Practitioner (OLP). The clinician will work independently and in a coordinated, comprehensive manner, based on the individual needs of the child and family. Clinical services provided under OLP are intended to help prevent the progression of behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention and may be provided to children/youth in need of assessment for whom behavioral health conditions have not yet been diagnosed. Pay and benefits: $80.00/service hour, $15.00/hour for all non-billable time Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, or MFT-P), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC or MHC-P), Licensed Creative Art Therapist (LCAT), or Licensed Psychoanalyst. Full Job Description: Title: Children's Mental Health Clinician (OLP) Department: Children and Family Treatment and Support Services Title of Immediate Supervisor: CFTSS Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY: The Children's Mental Health Clinician provides in-home and community-based services to Medicaid enrolled youth ages 0-21 under the Medicaid State Plan Service Other Licensed Practitioner (OLP). The clinician will work independently and in a coordinated, comprehensive manner, based on the individual needs of the child and family. Clinical services provided under OLP are intended to help prevent the progression of behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention and may be provided to children/youth in need of assessment for whom behavioral health conditions have not yet been diagnosed. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Individualized services: Deliver trauma-informed, individualized services based on the child's identified strengths and needs. Administer appropriate identified assessments in the context of the child/youth self-identified needs, goals, and ethnic, religious and cultural identities. Provide Licensed Evaluation/Assessment as a basis for establishing a diagnosis where needed, treatment plan, and identification of needed services. Develop a culturally relevant, trauma informed, and child/family centered treatment plan. Provide Psychotherapy/counseling for the purpose of alleviating symptoms or functional limitations associated with a diagnosed behavioral health disorder. Provide crisis response including triage, intervention and follow up as needed. Collaborate with Community Partners: Collaborate with formal systems, service providers and informal networks involved with the youth and family in a mutli-disciplinary team format. Maintain a working knowledge of appropriate community resources for linkage and referral. Attend case related conferences. Documentation: Utilize New Directions electronic case recording system for assessment, service planning, progress notes, and outcome monitoring purposes. Maintain accurate and timely case records, including progress notes and tracking mechanisms, electronically and in each client's file. Keep all client and family information, verbal and written, confidential. Adhere to all Medicaid requirements for billing and documentation. Training: Attend all mandatory in-service trainings as per NDYFS policy and OMH requirements. Agency Standards/Norms: • Participate in regular supervision (per New Directions policy and procedure) • Maintain a flexible schedule based around client availability, including evenings. Primary hours of service delivery are after school and evenings. • Adhere to agency and department policies and procedures • Utilize normative culture • Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor SKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, or MFT-P), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC or MHC-P), Licensed Creative Art Therapist (LCAT), or Licensed Psychoanalyst. Experience in the provision of individual family and group psychotherapy to adolescents and their families preferred. Experience in providing services to those who are substance use disordered and/or in acute crisis preferred.
