The technician will execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications, test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment. Perform work as outlined on the repair order efficiently and accurately, according to dealership and factory standards. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform the repair. Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notify the service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is unnecessary or required and if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Document work performed. Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician. Remember that the customer's vehicle should not be used for personal errands. Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned. Attend factory-sponsored training classes. Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Keep the shop area neat and clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times. Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor. Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Valid in-state driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
