Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer/Manufacturing Design Engineer Location: Dearborn, Michigan (Onsite) Client : Ford/ Tech Mahindra Type: Fulltime/Contract Job Description: Lead the design and delivery of Under Body sheet metal systems on vehicle programs. Deliver components and assemblies with quality that meet function, cost, weight, and timing requirements. Develop & maintain quality documents DFMEA, SCCAF, P-diagram etc. Collaborate with Studio, Design Technical Office, functional engineers (Frame, Battery structure, Interior, exterior Ornamentation., Electrical etc.), CAD teams, Internal & External suppliers, and Team of 4. Lead and manage suppliers to deliver program targets. Support current product production and quality efforts. Lead durability test failure resolution and counter measures implementation Opportunity to lead the Underbody Body sheet metal deliverables on the prototype builds of upcoming products at the pilot plant/assembly plant. 5+ years in an Engineering function such as Body structure, Interior, Systems Engineering, or Exterior Ornamentation Experience with Ford software: Catia, Digital Buck, CAE, Modeling Software, Microsoft Office.
