The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for executing continuous improvement projects in a discrete manufacturing environment. This role will entail analyzing all aspects of the industrial production processes and recommending areas of improvement. - Analyze various department processes including but not limited to: winding, grinding, cutting, and machining. - Plan, design, and execute manufacturing processes for production facility and complete projects on time and on budget. - Determine parts, equipment, tools and materials required to achieve sustainable manufacturing processes and reduce waste. - Analyze manufacturing data and identify areas for improvement. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Supervise and improve plant and factory production. - Interface regularly with the manager and other manufacturing engineers to ensure clear and concise communication. - Execute and manage engineering change orders (ECO) and new production introductions (NPI). - Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis. - Lead the design for manufacturing process, prepare process FMEA's, root cause analysis, plans facility, equipment, and resource changes and initial product builds, and ensure that manufacturing deliverables to development project plans are completed on time. - Plan, specify, select, validate and implement new equipment, processes and facilities in manufacturing. - Engage with personnel in the identification and resolution of corrective/preventative actions to address safety, quality, technical, and manufacturing issues. - Additional duties as assigned. - Commitment to uphold Polygon's Core Values: Excellence, Pride & Passion in Our Work, Integrity Without Compromise, Care for Our Community Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably manufacturing, industrial or mechanical engineering. - Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably a material conversion process such as extrusion, plastic injection molding, or similar. - Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus - Excellent presentation and communication skills - Strong strategic and critical thinking skills - Skilled in project management and ability to manage multiple projects at once - Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and Minitab - Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings including GD&T - Ability to lead a focused production/technical problem-solving team - Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try innovative approaches when faced with challenges The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
