Position Overview: Seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with a specialization in Storm water Management to join their team in Smyrna, GA. This role involves designing and managing storm water systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and collaborating on various development projects. Key Responsibilities: Storm water Design and Analysis: Develop storm water management plans, including drainage, retention/detention basins, and water quality features. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and HydroCAD. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and reports related to storm water systems. Perform calculations for storm water flow rates, runoff, and storage requirements. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal storm water regulations, including Georgia-specific requirements. Prepare and submit permit applications and documentation for regulatory approval. Stay informed about the latest storm water management regulations and best practices. Project Management and Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate storm water solutions into overall site designs. Manage storm water tasks within larger civil engineering projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and team members. Field Assessments and Quality Control: Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions, collect data, and support the implementation of designs. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and address any issues on-site. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience in storm water design and management, preferably in Georgia. Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, HydroCAD) and CAD tools. Familiarity with Georgia storm water regulations and permitting processes. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience with sustainable storm water practices, such as green infrastructure and low-impact development (LID). Familiarity with GIS software for spatial analysis.
