Property Accountant - NYC Real Estate Firm Vaco is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join a New York City real estate company. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of properties in the heart of Manhattan's dynamic market. Job Summary: As a Property Accountant, you will oversee financial operations for multiple real estate entities, utilizing both cash and accrual accounting methods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail, commercial, and residential real estate accounting. Key Responsibilities: Manage financial data for real estate entities Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Process journal entries and record portfolio income Generate Profit & Loss reports for monthly filings Prepare NY-specific reports (RPIEs and rent registrations) Produce accurate financial reports as needed Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry Proficiency in Yardi accounting system (required) Comprehensive understanding of income tax basis accounting (cash and accrual methods) Advanced Excel skills (V-lookup, Pivot tables) Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with property accounting Experience with NY-specific real estate filings Compensation: Competitive salary: $95,000 - $100,000 annually Location: New York City Company Overview: Our client is a well-established NYC property management leader, recognized for quality and customer satisfaction.
