Key Responsibilities Strategic HR professional, people partner, and member of the onboard Executive Committee. Collaborating with the ship and shoreside leadership teams to develop and implement people strategies and programs that are in line with core values and brand direction. The HR Manager must have extensive knowledge in all aspects of HR including MLC, employee relations, performance management, organizational development, disciplinary, learning & development, Crew Welfare, and HR systems Leads the Human Resources team by creating a highly engaged, effective, and team-oriented department. Serves as an advisor and coach to leadership and management on HR Policies & processes, and provides human resource direction and guidance on all employee-related issues Provides consultation and coaching to shipboard management for all departmental and individual performance issues, ensuring fair and consistent performance management procedures Efficiently and confidentially manages harassment and discrimination allegations and conducts prompt and thorough investigations as appropriate Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on MLC 2006, monitoring compliance of the vessel in teammate matters, undertaking regular /inspections highlighting findings to senior management Oversees the Learning & Development function, including the teammate Onboarding and Shipboard Orientation Processes Works collaboratively with ship and shore management on supporting and managing Employee Engagement Survey procedures and results to consistently improve business results and meet business objectives Manages the Internal Transfer Program and Career Progression by providing career counseling to teammates and managing the internal recruitment & interview process. Manages the Crew Welfare & Crew Club function, ensuring there is a balanced offering of social, recreational, and educational programs to support onboard wellbeing and teammate engagement. Acts as designated shipboard CARE Officer, partnering with the Medical Department, as appropriate, to ensure teammates' well-being. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Either a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Adult Education, or related field (or international equivalent) or an Advanced SHRM or CIPD HR Certification is preferred. Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in Human Resource Management (preferably in Employee Relations or as an HR Business Partner, or shipboard operations management). Must have experience and awareness of employee relations practices and procedures and have addressed employee relations issues in a multicultural environment, including conducting investigations, negotiating grievances and conflicts and dispute resolution. Knowledge of various international Human Resources standards in compensation, general benefits, employment, and staffing practices, and organizational development. Must be computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written. Personal characteristics include leadership ability, strong public speaking skills, professional demeanor and sound judgement in all decisions and actions. Must also have superb communication skills with the ability to be proactive within the shipboard organization. Ability to multi-task, adapt and adjust to a variety of circumstances, and work well under stress including receiving developmental feedback.
