Tower Cold Chain supports the global pharmaceutical and life science industries delivering lifesaving temperature-controlled shipments. Our uniquely innovative passive containers maintain the cold chain supply chain preventing temperature deviations or delayed shipments and enabling the delivery of temperature sensitive products to patients on time and to help save lives. Role This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day activities of the Operations Team, including coaching, training, and career development. Monitor and manage the team to ensure effective implementation of all projects to improve operations and increase profitability, manage all communication with staff, maintain knowledge of all employee performance and ensure achievement of the business objectives. The ability to multitask and manage business volatility is essential in this environment of fast paced growth. Operations Structure The Regional Operations Manager reports directly to Region with a dotted line to the Global Head of Operations. There is regional functionality and a central compliance to ensure consistency of delivery globally. Responsibilities Management of the Regional Operations team Management of regional 3PL (hubs) Inventory Management for hubs in region Regional Management of 4PL Manage the goods in / goods out process and reconcile paperwork for accounts Raise and approve purchase orders in line with company policy and direct authorities Maintenance of reefer containers used to condition plates regionally Reporting on Operational KPIs using data from Tower's new order management /database system (MCS) Managing and continuous review for Operational suppliers in region Training Provide training and support for new and existing hub partners following Tower training framework Provide training for new operations employees following Tower training framework Management of day-to-day operation for regional hubs to include: Manage asset availability and trigger levels in line with customer demands Manage monthly business review with hub partners to ensure operational excellence through service delivery, cost efficiencies and customer satisfaction Monitor and report on regional KPIs Identify additional service requirements within hubs and manage expansion plans to support organic growth and new business opportunities Manage the on-boarding of new business Manage the onboarding of new hub partners following the Tower framework Manage regional audits (alongside QA) for suppliers, both internal and external Customer requirements supplied in line with growth demand & best in class service. Tower Integrated Management Systems (TIMS) Ongoing adherence to the Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems for the US operation Identify industry regulations that affect the business including implementation if necessary To ensure that all operations staff has full understanding and adherence to all SOP's and other Tower operational documentation related to Operational management Compliance with Tower's Integrated Management System and internal processes Job Requirements Education Graduate in Logistics, Operations or Supply Chain and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of economic management to successfully fulfil the role of Operations Manager. Exhibits an advanced level of understanding of industry supply chains ideally within the life science/healthcare/manufacturing sectors Experience 5+ years of operations management experience 5+ years of direct line management experience Experience in analysing situations, troubleshooting, systems and tools, and problem-solving Experience managing business KPIs Documentation management and communication skills paramount Cold Chain experience with familiarity with passive packaging solutions, especially containers, an advantage Additional training IOSH Managing safely Safe working practices, including other HSE courses relevant to the business operation Logistic training (including INCO terms, import & export) Business management - continually try to improve and develop the business performance through the Business management life cycle Project Management Skills Possesses strong leadership and development skills Can inspire confidence; engaging people skills to bring out the best in the team members Ability to adapt to change and manage change effectively Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail Ability to consider process impacts and consequences Please note that we are not able to sponsor employment visas at this time, and therefore can only accept applications from people who have employment rights in the US.
