Salary: $16.00 - $19.45 Hourly Location : City of Benicia, CA Job Type: Part Time Job Number: 24/25 #23 Department: Parks & Community Services Opening Date: 10/01/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Definition First Review of Applications Scheduled for October 31, 2024 Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Leader - Youth Basketball Referee will be responsible for the supervision of children (6 - 12 years of age) in the Benicia Parks & Community Services Department. Standard First Aid and CPR certifications are required once hired for the Recreation Leader - Youth Basketball Referee position. The Recreation Leader - Youth Basketball Referee is a mandated reporter position. Distinguishing Characteristics Specific job duties are that of a Youth Basketball Referee. Applicants must have knowledge of the basic rules of basketball, experience playing the sport strongly desired. Referees will have interaction with children, coaches and parents. The program operates on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Staff will be scheduled either morning or afternoon. The position does not receive any health insurance benefits. Unless otherwise eligible for CalPERS retirement system, employees in this category are enrolled in PARS, an alternate retirement system, and employees have a 6.2% payroll deduction towards PARS.
