TITLE: PAYROLL AND BENEFITS MANAGER LOCATION: CORPORATE REPORTS TO: CONTROLLER AND CEO POSITION SUMMARY: The Payroll and Benefits Manager has a high attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the week. This will be an in office work environment, Monday-Friday. Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Maintains a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image Administration of bi-weekly payrolls Directs and plans the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, retirement plans, open enrollments, etc) Timely and accurately process payroll for a fluctuating workforce of full time and part time employees (tipped and non-tipped) using Paylocity and Toast Prepare and distribute standard and custom payroll reports Review, process, and reconcile time off requests and balances Reconcile and process 401K deductions and submit contribution files Work with our payroll provider to reconcile tax inquiries and/or discrepancies Interact daily in a professional manner with all levels of employees to address wages and benefits Coordinate and distribute materials for benefits, orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions Reconcile and approve the billing and processing of monthly charges for group benefits Oversee maintenance of employee benefit files, maintain group benefits database and update employe payroll records Assist employees in requests for employment and payroll documents Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures Assists other team members as needed or when business needs dictates Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum 3 years of benefit and payroll experience (including 1 year in a full service, tipped restaurant) Computer proficiency and technical aptitude; Microsoft 365 (including Excel) and Google Suite Experience with HR information systems (Paylocity is a plus) Ability to handle stress under pressure and multitask Ability to follow through and maintain organization Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of plan designs Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision; self motivated and anticipate needs of company Fluency in Spanish preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to be flexible with job demands and open minded when being asked to complete tasks Ability to travel to different locations around the Chicago area, as needed Onsite, in office work environment Ability to stand and/or for up to 8 hours a day One Off Hospitality provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
