This position provides support to the Manufacturing Team by focusing on Process Improvement utilizing "Lean Manufacturing", problem solving techniques & Capital Improvements to drive Continuous Improvement (CI). The position will develop CI opportunities for the processing & packaging areas in the Shawnee operation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Identify "Lean Manufacturing" & bottleneck opportunities in the Processing & Packaging areas. Focus on workflow and process layout to eliminate the "8 deadly Wastes". Work closely with R&D to scale up new products from the laboratory to a commercialized manufactured product. Embedded in Product Development Stage Gate Process which includes signoff at critical gates. As Engineering Changes Requests (ECR's) occur the Process Engineer will work with the Process Improvement Mgr to review & implement changes to the Manufacturing Orders & Work Standards. Utilize Redzone software to develop our team members skills that focus on the Process Productivity, Compliance Quality Checks and Learning modules. Create / revamp training procedures in the Redzone Learning Module for the manufacturing processes and support implementation and training of our Team Members. Support the development, implementation, and maintain KPI's for the Processing & Packaging areas. Use Redzone & Power BI Reports to drive the data throughout the organization while prioritizing and visualizing CI projects. Prioritize activities around the Digital Process & Packaging areas. As time permits expand to the Narrow Web, Screen manufacturing process. Monitor that all processes are being performed in support of ISO 9001 requirements. Perform job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures. Support the department by analyzing, maintaining, and improving organizational performance. Support the develop of process enhancement strategies developed by the Manufacturing leadership. Investigate manufacturing issues, non-conforming products, and customer complaints by utilizing root cause analysis tools to provide corrective actions for the manufacturing processes. Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in new processes that drive constant conditions. Support department projects, objectives & goals. Support processes that are compliant with EH&S regulation / legislation. Performs job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Knowledge and the ability to implement Quality Tools & techniques (i.e. Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving, 5 Why's, Value Stream Mapping, 8 Deadly Wastes & 5S). Quality Certification is a plus (i.e., Lean Six Sigma, ASQ Quality Cert, ISO9001 Auditor, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills. Excellent data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel, Pivot tables, Power BI, Tableau & Redzone Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent attention to detailed organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Understanding of business and management principles. Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
