Join the Journey: Empower Lives, Shape Futures at The Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI) Compensation: $44,000 + Benefits (that currently include): Medical (Anthem): 3 copay/deductible options; base plan is $35/paycheck Vision (Mutual of Omaha): $60 per year; $130 hardware allowance- Employee Funded Dental (Mutual of Omaha): $500 per year; $1,750 annual benefit- Employee Funded Life: 1 x Salary to $100K; paid by CIRI Voluntary Life: Available to employees and family Disability: 60% of earnings; paid by CIRI Identity Theft: Optional coverage; paid by employees- For employee and/or family- Employee Funded Position Summary: The Career Planning Case Manager will work closely with migrant communities, primarily Cuban and Haitian migrants, assisting clients in developing and implementing personalized service and career development plans. This role requires a compassionate and proactive individual committed to empowering clients to navigate the job market and achieve their career goals. Essential Job Functions: Career Planning and Case Management: Collaborate with clients to create and implement individualized service and career development plans. Coordinate with clients, the Refugee Services Employment team, and primary Case Managers to identify suitable job openings. Assist clients with job applications and interview preparation, fostering their independence in the process. Train clients on U.S. work culture, emphasizing essential work ethic, attitudes, and both hard and soft skills. Enhance and deliver CIRI's Job Club and other relevant trainings, including job readiness workshops, women's job club, computer literacy, financial literacy, and other specialized services. Identify scholarship and tuition reimbursement opportunities to support clients' career aspirations. Collaborate with the ESL Instructor, to empower clients to complete English Language Learning (ELL) programs, addressing barriers to their learning. Administrative Management: Maintain accurate and timely client data, including case notes, utilizing CIRI's online data collection systems and paper files. Understand key grant programmatic requirements and assist in preparing statistical reports for specific grants and programs. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, teaching, anthropology, psychology, international studies, public health). At least 2 years of experience in a client-facing employment position and/or 1 year of experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations. Ability to provide in-person services to clients in New Haven and Bridgeport. Superior organizational, communication, and prioritization skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff and service providers. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced in working with client databases. Must possess a reliable vehicle, a valid U.S. driver's license, and valid auto insurance.
