What you will do: As a Controls Engineer I, you will apply technical knowledge and expertise towards the Design, documentation, troubleshooting, support, and commissioning of automated control systems governing Aerzen supplied products and systems. Primary objectives include assisting the Engineering team in the support of the production, quality, and sales & service teams in areas pertinent to Aerzen's shipment, quality control, and customer service goals. While performing this role, individuals will understand and address all aspects of project related technical specifications, internal equipment datasheets, stakeholder concerns as well as equipment, application and project risks to provide the best possible "Customer Value + Aerzen Solution" that is safe, efficient, reliable, and profitable for the client as well as for Aerzen. Interactions Interact professionally with and serve as a resource and point of contact for sales, project management, purchasing, production and customer support by providing technical knowledge, expertise and documentation regarding Aerzen blower and compressor equipment and control systems. Quality Adopt a quality mindset in fulfilling customer expectations at appropriate levels of cost. Follow and apply the ISO 9001 for design process where applicable and assist in closing CARS, performing root cause failure analysis, and vetting suppliers. Autonomy & Complexity Acquire knowledge and develop skills both autonomously and under the strategic direction of direct management to support the business. Perform assigned task and project work under the direction of a supervisor, performing work that is appropriate and conducive to serving the business while fostering the development of an engineering skillset. Engineering Design Understand and address product and project related specifications. Perform calculations, generate drawings, produce bills of materials, and design equipment and systems. Ensure compliance of safety standards and regulations for engineering designs. Create and maintain engineering tools to aid in design and work within Aerzen's ERP software and document control systems. Develop automated solutions which integrate and control Aerzen packages and related processes in a professional, organized structure with thorough documentation and rigid revision control. Develop, issue, and manage the proper completion of controls business associated technical documents: submittal documents, testing procedures, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), technical memos, control narratives, commissioning reports, and other engineering generated drawings and materials. Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC Accredited Program. Field of study: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, Software, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree. Experience: Minimum 0-2 Years of Relevant Professional Required in the Instrumentation & Controls Field. Ability to demonstrate familiarity with relevant engineering fundamentals though coursework or prior work experience preferred. Expertise: Preferred expertise in the following fields: Control system hardware and software design Process Familiarity: Industrial compressed gas/air distribution systems, environmental operation and wastewater treatment, vacuum systems PLC Programming, Operation, Integration and Troubleshooting Required Platforms: - Siemens (TIA Portal) - Rockwell/Allen Bradley (RSlogix 5000, Studio5000) Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams, Add-On Instructions, Ladder Logic HMI/OIT Programming, Operation, Integration and Troubleshooting Required: - Siemens (TIA Portal) - Rockwell/Allen Bradley (Factorytalk/Studio 5000) Preferred but not required: C-more, Vijeo Designer, Crimson, Maple Systems etc. VFD Selection and Programming 2D, 3D drawings including PIDs, Wiring Diagrams, and PFDs Selection, Integration, Troubleshooting, and Commissioning of Instruments and other assorted IO sources Industrial Communication Protocols (Modbus RTU, TCP/IP, EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet, ProfiBus) Electrical Codes and Hazardous Area design restrictions Lean Manufacturing Industry Best Practices: control methods, product design, software revision control, etc. Industry market Intelligence gathering & networking Controls Prototype development Controls Product & Process development Mentoring & Personnel development Packaging of rotating equipment and supporting systems Integration and Controls Piping and Pressure Vessel Thermodynamics Fluid Dynamics Computer Skills: Proficiency in structured text, ladder logic, and object-oriented programming as well as MS Office programs required.
