General Summary: To provide clinical mental health services, both psychotherapy and nursing services along with consultation to staff and community agencies. Essential Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing assessments; Utilize comprehensive nursing assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations in direct client care. Monitor medication and administer injections with strict adherence to Thrive policy and procedure. Adjust monthly medication log according to doctor's medication orders. Monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning; monitor medication regimen; assist in community networking and education. Provide intake/assessment services and ongoing short term case management and psychotherapy services to adult outpatients; Consult/liaison with psychiatrist and/or medical doctors and other treatment staff; Provide individual, couple, family or group counseling. Provide crisis intervention. Provide referral consultation and education to the community regarding issues of chemical dependency and mental health. Provide chemical dependency and mental health consultation, education and training to Thrive personnel. Develop and implement treatment plans and document services consistent with Thrive standards and/or insurance requirements. Collaborate with other providers, agencies and individuals in the client's network of care. Provide education, training and modeling in basic daily living skills, social or parenting skills. Teach clients effective techniques for managing their medication as prescribed. Coordinate services within Thrive as needed. Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives. Produce, complete, and maintain billing forms, logs, data collection forms, clinical documentation and client records in accordance with Thrive standards and state and federal regulations. Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage at all time. Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team members are required to work nights, weekends, and holidays, per BHDDH regulations. Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics. Qualifications Education, Experience and Competencies: Bachelor's Degree in the Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum (2) year experience in a mental health setting working with clients with disabilities preferred. Experience or training in related state and federal assistance programs also preferred. Basic computer literacy skills are necessary Certifications, Licenses Requirements: Rhode Island registered nursing license required. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
