Compensation: 75,000-90,000 Continuous Improvement Engineer Location: near Joliet, Illinois Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our team near Joliet, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes, and implementing lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities: Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency. Lean Manufacturing: Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and standard work implementation. Train team members on lean principles and facilitate continuous improvement activities. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes of inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Use statistical tools and techniques to drive data-driven decision-making and process improvements. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and implement robust quality control processes. Identify and address quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence. Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to team members on continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement throughout the organization. Project Management: Lead continuous improvement projects from inception to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and progress tracking. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a continuous improvement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools, such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban, and root cause analysis. Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and statistical process control techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence change. Project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred but not required.
