The Procurement Specialist will engage in strategic sourcing and assist in optimizing operational support in accordance with direction from the Procurement Manager. Must become a capable, hands-on operative capable of immediate action and prioritizing multiple projects. Essential Functions: Prioritize assignments in accordance with guidance while meeting established deadlines Communicate potential solutions and business problems to management Assist with suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement-related problems and issues Familiarize with and utilize the database of each preferred supplier, capabilities, and industry dynamics Assist sourcing strategies that drive cost reduction and process improvement within the department, and throughout the company Collaborate with other departments to identify and maintain resources needed to provide an effective supply chain Analyze current procedures; suggest improvements to leaders to increase the efficiency of the procurement process and profitability for the company Support management policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; communicate enhancement concepts to existing processes Learn and perform pricing negotiation for purchased items and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies Identify inefficiencies in procurement; recommend/present solutions to address these issues Perform procurement functions such as requesting quote, reviewing, pricing, generating purchase orders, and finalizing deliveries Derive savings via volume, recurring, and pre-negotiated arrangements Coordinate with staff and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate arrival of products and services Assist with Site locations to ensure suppliers are performing per their requirements Other duties as assigned Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) Knowledge of Smartsheet's a plus Knowledge of UKG a plus Must have strong attention to detail Strategic and critical thinker Strong understanding of Accounts Payable principles and practices Exceptional time management and disciplined for remote working Strong communication skills Capable of meeting tight deadlines while working in a rapid, high-stress environment Ability to work nights and weekends. We operate 24/7/365 Education and Experience: An associate degree in business or a related field is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.
