Piper Companies is searching for a skilled Facilities Engineer to contribute to the establishment of all black utilities systems for a reputable company in the Raleigh, NC area that is looking to double in size and production in the coming years. The ideal Facilities Engineer will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of black utility systems. This is an on-site position that will operate on a Monday-Friday schedule . Responsibilities of the Facilities Engineer - Black Utilities: Develop and maintain system specifications for black utilities Support the design, installation, commissioning, & qualification for black utilities Provide technical support to the project team Support the technical development of Facilities Technicians after handover to the line of business. Implement continuous process improvement concepts E stablish and maintain standards for procedures and maintenance plans Physical Requirements: Move equipment and supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder and work at elevated heights Work around odorous and/or hazardous materials Work within confined spaces for inspection, repair, and maintenance of equipment Qualifications of the Facilities Engineer - Black Utilities: 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing facility preferred Knowledge and experience in the operations, maintenance, and design of cGMP utilities and working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) Knowledgeable in black utilities systems including chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, and wastewater management Some knowledge of clean utilities systems including process water, clean steam, process air, vacuum, and cryogenic storage is a plus Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, and Electrical systems Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, and Validation Protocols Proven expertise in planning, organizing, and executing project and maintenance activities Experience revising work plans for complex problems resolved by cross-functional teams Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience Compensation of the Facilities Engineer - Black Utilities: $50-$60/hr based on experience Full Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Keywords: black utilities, commissioning, qualification, cLEAN, manufacturing, GMP, OSHA, process water, clean steam, compressed air, vacuum, waste water management, CAD, P&ID, Validation, mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering #LI-PB2 #LI-ONSITE
