Summary:The Field Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining The Hill Group's ("Hill") Health and Safety Policies throughout all levels of the organization and for ensuring safe work practices are implemented and enforced while maintaining compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. The Field Safety Coordinator must take a leadership role in developing and promoting our Hill Safety Culture. Safety is our priority and we are committed to taking the steps necessary to protect our people and to continue striving for an accident-free workplace. The Field Safety Coordinator works closely with the Project Managers, Superintendents, and Sub-Contractors to ensure the implementation of all Safety Policies and to meet the Safety Department's goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities:Conduct regular safety assessments and inspectionsObserve employee work practices to detect potential accident situationsMonitor proper use of all safety and test equipment while promoting consistent utilization among the jobsite workforceDocument work-related incidents to include unsafe conditions, near-misses, and actual accidentsEnsure all corrective measures are implemented while providing education to prevent re-occurrenceFacilitate Safety Training as neededAssist with conducting new hire safety orientation as neededAssist Supervisors in how to properly conduct safety meetingsPromote a high level of safety consciousness throughout the organizationAssist in the development of job site safety plansProvide technical advice to field and office personnelServe as a resource to project teamsAssist Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety DirectorComplete research as assigned by Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety DirectorComplete tasks and projects assigned by the Sr. Field Safety Coordinator and Safety DirectorIdentify areas of safety improvement and suggest the implementation of guidelines, policies, procedures, and training.Other Qualifications:Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situationsGreat attention to detail, accuracy, and organization with an ability to prioritize and multi-task competing priorities and create own scheduleStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels within Hill and outside of the organizationMust be able to work independently with limited supervision while still being a team player; also requires an initiative to improve Safety practices when identified Competencies:Results-OrientedTwo-Way CommunicationBuilding RelationshipsCritical Thinking and Decision MakingAdaptability TechnicalFunctional ExpertiseMotivating Others Education Experience Requirements:Bachelor's in Occupational SafetyHealth or related field or equivalent training and experience preferred.Zero (0) to two (2) years of previous construction safety andor internship experience puter proficiency in MS Office Suite Certifications License Requirements:Valid driver's license is a necessity.
