As a small and nimble startup, we need someone willing to work collaboratively and help develop new features for our customers. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing firmware team and be comfortable with IoT technology and the associated tradeoffs. They will work closely with product management to develop new features and will push code to production that our customers will see immediately.Minimum Qualifications:BS, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience required. MS is a plus.2+ years experience writing firmware in C or C++Experience writing reliable, testable code for a variety of embedded systemsExperience connecting IoT devices using WiFi, Bluetooth, BLE, LoRa, and CellularWorking experience with common platforms (e.g.: AVR, Cortex-M, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Zephyr)Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, leadership, planning and technicalproblem analysis abilitiesExperience implementing software security techniquesPreferred Qualifications:Experience with RF, certifications, measurement, testing, securityPassionate about technology with demonstrated evidence of being a maker or tinkererStrong experience building embedded software using various device protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, MQTT) and communication protocols (Zigbee, LoRA, BLE, WiFi, Cellular)Familiarity with schematicPCB layout software, edge computing platforms, and gatewaysExperience with embedded LinuxExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCPExperience leading and participating in cross functional teamsAbout SlateSafetySlateSafety is a technology start-up based in Atlanta, GA at the edge of the Connected Safety revolution.
