A well-know fashion brand looking for a Freelance Sample Coordinator with experience contemporary fashion specifically, based in Van Nuys.StartEnd: In next few weeksNo End date Job Description: Subject to Change This on-site position, reporting to the VP of Product Development, offering an exciting opportunity to spearhead sample coordination while actively contributing to our innovative and inclusive workplace culture. Your role will involve seamless coordination between various departments including PR, Marketing, Content, Product Development and Tech Design. Check out the summary below for a glimpse into the role's key functions and the impactful contributions you'll make.The description below is only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties.Responsibilities:Maintain knowledge of location and status of samples at any given time throughout all stages of the development & production processCommunicate cross-departmentally, meet deadlines, and identify discrepancies during the check-in process of samples in coordination with PR, Marketing, Content, Production, PD and Tech Design teams. Oversee the status of approved photoshoot samples to ensure they are accurately received by calendar deadlineManage the reference sample tracker to verify location of samples at any given time and ensure efficient sample availability if needed by multiple parties for the same deliveryOwn management of archive closet with support of all cross functional teamsSupport management of receipt, checkout, and disposal of samples against guidelines to ensure timely and efficient sample availability with support of tech design and design teamsOversee the physical organization of the samples with support from all cross functional teamsMaintain a clean and organized showroom and sample closet used by studio team with support from tech design and merchandising teamsRecommend process improvements by identifying problems and potential system enhancements to leadership to increase sample processing effectivenessKeep WIP charts up to date and maintain fabrictrim binders on a daily basisReview lab dips to meet seasonal color standardsMaintain a daily correspondence with vendors including sending comments on designlayouts and tracking status of raw materials, submits and samplesActively participate in design meetings to ensure vendors are able to execute design's requests; offering alternative suggestions if requests cannot be met by calendar deadlines or are outside of margin targets.Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with design, tech, and production in regard to changes discrepancies approvals etc.Qualifications:1-2 years of experience in sample coordination andor Product DevelopmentComputer proficiency in all Google Suite applications and MS Office: Excel, WordStrong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking and problem-solving skillsFlexible and adaptable in a rapidly growing companyAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively with team members of different backgrounds and skill sets, cultural experience.Passionate about working for an inclusive, values driven brand.A high level of ownership, accountability and initiativeAbility to work autonomously, takes initiatives and exercises discretion and good judgment.Ability to prioritize competing projects and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsIf you are interested, please respond with your updated resume.
