As Design/Product Engineer 3, Bespoke this person will be responsible for working with design and manufacturing to develop and improve product designs. Work may include creation of previously non-existent products or modification of existing products, including product line extensions. They take on larger and more varied projects than a Design Engineer 2. This is a senior level position and it may be a career level for many engineers. These engineers demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices. They are able to draw solutions from a wider range of experience. They are generally more proficient at solving problems in a timely manner. Assignments are broad in nature and they work under minimal supervision. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: Create engineering and manufacturing documentation and procedures for original pieces for Bespoke Work with Design and manufacturing to achieve design, safety, quality and cost criteria. The typical cycle includes conceptualizing, developing prototypes, testing and perfecting designs. Optimize options and materials to increase the craft/quality of our designs while optimizing cost, environmental impact and weight Appropriately apply policies and procedures to complete assignments. Develop, improve and adapt those policies and procedures. Create physical prototypes through 3D printing, model shops and manufacturing Drive continuous improvement activities, including cost reduction and product/process refinement. Interact across all work cells to work on solutions to product/process issues and updates while keeping a focus on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. They may act as leads on some projects and guide more junior engineers, technicians, less experienced engineers or interns. OUR REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years experience in furniture or product development, preferably in high end residential or contract furnishings Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or comparable degree Highly skilled in leveraging Engineering tools. Solidworks experience preferred.
