The Snohomish County Public Works Department is hiring a talented individual to fill a key Office Assistant II position in our Road Maintenance Division . As the Office Assistant II , you will be responsible for answering phones and routing resident issues via phone, email, and voicemail. This position is the first point of contact with the public and closely coordinates with supervisors, lead workers, and other divisions throughout the County. Additional assignments will include, but are not limited to: Coordinating the Adopt-a-Road program. Locating and entering accurate information in our asset management system, Cartegraph. Entering emergency information in the emergency alert system, RAVE. Routing issues to appropriate entities if outside of Road Maintenance. Various office-related tasks; use of office machinery and systems. Well-qualified candidates will be customer service-oriented with the ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively in an engaging environment and will bring these key strengths to the role: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work while receiving numerous phone calls, voicemails, and emails simultaneously. Microsoft Office Suite, data entry, mapping, and computer experience. Familiarity with the Snohomish County road network is preferred. Work Schedule This important public facing position works a five (5) day per week in-office schedule at our Cathcart Way Operations Center (CWOC) located in Snohomish. This position works a Monday - Friday schedule and has no opportunity for remote work. This position is in-office only . STATEMENT OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assists the general public in person or on the phone by answering questions, taking complaints, explaining services, policies, procedures and schedules; locates information from county records and provides it to the public as requested. Acts as a receptionist (as needed) with emphasis on directing the general public to the appropriate source of information or service. Receives, processes and issues various forms, notices, orders; reviews items for accuracy, completeness, required stamps and signatures; forwards documents to other offices as necessary.
