We are seeking qualified, like-minded Registered Nurses to join our team! Summary/Objective: The Registered Nurse collaborates with the provider to determine the needs of the patient and assists the provider with providing quality medical care to the patients. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Interviews patients and measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height. Collects data accurately and sees that all information is transferred to patient chart correctly. Prepares examination and treatment rooms for examination of patients. Wears appropriate PPE and follows Infection Control policies at all times. Handles, maintains and cleans all endoscopy equipment per manufacture's recommendations and applicable policies. Is familiar with and adheres to all endoscopy policies and procedures. Completes all required annual competencies. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement measures. Hands instruments and materials to provider and assists with minor office procedures if needed as directed by provider. Calls medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for testing, procedures or admission. Returns patient calls and places prescription refill calls under the direction of provider of care. Performs EKG's, venipuncture, Blood Glucose and Pregnancy test as needed following standard procedures. Completes proper requisition for laboratory processing. Obtains histories from patient by phone pre-operatively or in person when assigned to that role, either daily, several times per week, or whenever needed. Recognizes abnormal results upon review of lab and test results. Interacts with provider regarding patient education and follow up regarding results. If circulating a procedure, will assist provider with obtaining specimens during procedures, including biopsies, polypectomies and dilatations. Prepares, documents, and labels specimens properly. Assists with health education on the patient's level of understanding. Performs admission assessment of patients. Obtains intravenous access of patients as needed. Provide care of patients during Pre-op, Intra-op, Recovery and discharge of patients. Other Duties/Responsibilities: Maintains ACLS and BLS certification at all times. Maintains Tennessee or Georgia (Multi-State) Registered Nurse license at all times. Performs all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards. Ensures that adequate supplies are maintained at location at all times. Maintains clean and neat work area. Make recommendations for any improvements in operation of the clinical systems. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Assist other personnel in the performance of their duties as assigned and as workload permits. Function as relief for other personnel in the office as appropriate and to facilitate co-worker's absence in the office. Recognize and demonstrate cost-effective measures in utilization of supplies and equipment. Maintain strictest confidentiality of all company records, including verbal and written records. Reports any unusual incidents or occurrences to the Clinical Manager. Consults with the Clinical Manager administrative issues and problems. Provides a safe environment for the patient to prevent potential injury. Investigates and intervenes in problem situations, reporting appropriate information to the Clinical Manager and documents same. Other duties as assigned by Clinical Manager. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Wear identification during work hours. Represent the organization in a positive & professional manner. A graduate of a registered nursing program from a nationally accredited institution. Individual must have RN Certification from an accredited and acceptable institution. Individual must have previous clinical experience with Pre-op, Recovery, Phlebotomy and/or Circulating GI Procedures. Individual must have and maintain ACLS and BLS certification at all times. Ability to document in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner. Ability to use present type of computer equipment.
