Kelly is hiring an EHS Specialist for one of our biotechnology clients in Greenville, NC Pay Rate: $24-30hr depending on experience and education levelsHours: 7am-4pm, willing to be flexiblePotential Temp to PermHow will you make an impact?This position ensures site compliance with environmental permits and internal requirements at the Greenville, NC site. Responsible for monitoring, operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility and hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage areas. In addition to completing inspections, sample collection and preparing reports.What will you do?• Maintain a good understanding of environmental operations and systems, internal environmental programs, and governmental laws and regulations (RCRA, NPDES, etc)• Operate environmental equipment and control systems, observe variations, and make any necessary control adjustments within established operational limits• Complete environmental inspections and audits, environmental compliance sampling, and maintain records for compliance with regulatory statutes and company governance• Prepare environmental compliance reports• Provide initial spill response, assess situation necessary for action, and notify appropriate user, emergency and management personnel and initiate containment operations.• Provide preventative maintenance and ongoing maintenance of environmental equipment and control systems according to established PMs and operational needs• Prepare waste and all required documentation for hazardous and non-hazardous shipmentsHow will you get here?EducationHigh School Diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred.ExperienceAt least 3 years of demonstrated experience in an environmentalcompliance-related field. Physical Chemical 1 Wastewater Operator Certification through NCDEQ preferred.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities• Knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations RCRA, NPDES, CAA, EPA, etc.• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and FDAindustry expectations• Outstanding attention to detail and organization skills• Good written and verbal communication skills• Proficient in the use of computerized office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) is a plus• Effective time management and prioritization skills• Strong team member who works well with others
