Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the engineering, design, testing, and marketing of new products and improvements to existing products, in order to meet specific customer and overall market needs as well as revenue and margin growth. Working with a cross functional team, the Product Engineer will be the lead engineer responsible for planning and executing projects focused on product definition and improvement, as well as integrating them into the company portfolio. Responsibilities: Understand customer/market requirements and work with cross functional teams to develop and evaluate new products and solutions and adapt and improve existing ones. Design and evaluate product prototypes and conceive new product and technology development plans. Define procedures to evaluate product performance. Complete performance and validation testing on existing and new products. Collaborate with manager and cross-functional team in creating product and test protocols in accordance with ABEC standards and guidelines. Develop Training Materials and work with department leads to implement training. Evaluate and report product commercial performance and market share. Support Sales, Applications and Marketing teams to support product revenue and margin growth. Evaluate product costs and work with operational departments to reduce costs and improve gross margins. Communicate with professionals in the field at all levels and transition information into product improvement. Work in a professional team-based office environment and meet date-driven customer-focused commitments. Problem solve issues with attention to detail. Duties will also include general engineering support for other functional groups such as Project Engineering, Applications, and Manufacturing. Execute other tasks as assigned. Ability to travel when required. Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity. Requirements Qualifications: BS degree in an Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required. At least 3 to 5 years mechanical engineering experience required, preferably in machine design. Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus. Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
