WHO are we looking for?ResponsibilitiesCAPTRUST is seeking a Senior Tax Associate who will work with team members to provide high net worth families, individuals, and their related entities with tax compliance, tax consulting, and wealth management services. The position is responsible for adding to the team's efforts in all client activities including tax planning, compliance, and executing all tax projects effectively. This position will also develop tax planning techniques for clients and make general recommendations for additional services where appropriate. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:Meets and corresponds with clients or potential clients regularlyMeets and corresponds with other advisors or professionals including attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals to collaborate on servicing shared clientsSupports with annual tax returns preparation and reviews for individuals, trust, and business entities using tax software; this may include reviewing prepared returns or preparing returns for reviewResearch and analyze tax related compliance and planning questions utilizing available research toolsMaintaining and updating client files and records as appropriateBuilds internal network to enhance efficiency of the team and promote tax service offeringAdd value to internal meetings by actively engaging in and being prepared for rigorous discussions centered around tax process, tax preparation issues and other matters that impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the tax teamEffectively communicating with colleagues and superiors on project status, open items, and assistance neededBased on business need, ability to travel for occasional on-site meetings and collaborationTechnology focused with opportunities to assist in developing and improving tax processesQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Accounting career path preferredAdvanced degree in Tax from an accredited university (preferred)3 or more years current public accounting experience preparing and reviewing income tax returnsDesired QualificationsSkillsSupervisory experience preferredExtensive knowledge of federal and state income tax lawsProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookSelf-starter who can get started on projects and coach direct reportsStrong work ethic, professional demeanor, and client service focusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to demonstrate highest personal ethics, integrity, and confidentialityWHAT can you expect from your career at CAPTRUST?Our colleagues, like our clients, tend to stay with CAPTRUST for years.
