Meta - W2 ContractMechanical PDE, Sunnyvale, CAJob Description:Meta is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA! In this role you will lead exploration, prototyping, maturing and implementation of new technologies into functional medium volume prototypes to validate technical and product level functionality, use cases and tech maturity. Work alongside a diverse and expert XFN team consisting of EE, FWSW, Audio, Optical engineers.Responsibilities:Lead technology development projects through creation of functional prototypes, development of test methodsSupport RnD projects (NTI and NPI) through the design of systems and test vehicles for new technology introduction studies and technology development.Design product components and systems for consumer electronicsDesign electromechanical and optomechanical systems for device testing and validation - Develop and implement test methods for design validationContribute to creation of technical specifications and product definition.Work closely with XFN team consisting of EE, FWSW, Audio, Optical, REL, MfgEngMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience5+ years of experience designing and shipping components or systems for consumer electronics or similar mid to high-volume industries.Strong engineering fundamentals and experience with:Material science experience with relevant materials for consumer electronics: plastics, metals, insulators, gaskets, thermal interface materials, Heat transfer, Statics, Dynamics, Structural designExperience with production drawings and tolerance analysisFamiliarity with PCBA and FPC design and manufacturing methods.Experience with various subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies for production and prototyping: injection molding, sheet metal, co-molding, machining, CNC - Data analysis and visualization experience (matlab, python, jmp or similar)Experience building part and assembly prototypes in the shopProficient in NX, SolidWorks, or Creo
