General Description: The purpose of this position is to assist with a wide variety of research and/or development tasks and/or experiments. Principal Responsibilities: Work with Valent R&D and FMD personnel to execute field research and demonstration trials. Evaluate crop conditions and take detailed notes of conditions throughout the growing season in an unbiased, scientific manner. Assist with field days. Assist Research Station personnel with day-to-day operations. Skills: Excellent initiative, communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Computer skills and experience, including Microsoft Office and web-based programs. Knowledgeable about row crops and crop protection products. Experience: Knowledge of common agricultural practices, including weed, disease, and insect identification in row crops. Education: Undergraduate student or BA/BS in agricultural related science or equivalent. Other: Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle report required. May be required to work weekends and long days during peak research period. Able to lift or move 50-75 lbs. Will work outside around pesticides in agricultural crop fields; may be exposed to extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness. Will follow all Valent and government safety requirements. May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). #LI-ONSITE
