We have a great opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef! The Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing all daily kitchen operations, while adhering to company standards, developing, and training staffs over all stations in kitchen and meeting food costs budget and timelines. The Sous Chef will work with management in purchasing, inventory management and staffing issues. This person provides leadership and direction to all HOH culinary managers including team members. This person ensures that all recipes, preparations, and presentations meet company specifications and quality in a safe, orderly, and sanitized kitchen. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities include assisting Kitchen Manager with scheduling hourly team members, ordering product, maintaining and ensuring proper food execution and minimal waste. Upholding safety and sanitation and recipe preparedness. Complete knowledge of all stations in kitchen, and recipes, portions, and presentation of entrees. Effectively communicates and manage all kitchen personnel to ensure efficient operations and adherence to company policies and procedures Responsible for supporting the achieving budgets within the kitchen (food efficiencies, inventory, labor cost and direct kitchen expenses Control and implementation of new recipes and seasonal rollouts. Ability to work under pressure in a high-energy and demanding environment. Ensure proper staffing levels by assisting in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring. Recommend and initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with company rules and policies. Alert management of potentially serious issues. Ensure that all kitchen equipment, including but not limited to sinks, stoves, grills, hoods, coolers, freezers, etc., are in proper operational condition and are cleaned on a regular basis. Ensure that all kitchen areas and related storerooms are cleaned, mopped, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume and in accordance with sanitation and health department requirements. Notify General Manager immediately of any maintenance and repair needs. Must have basic computer skills Job Requirements: Must have an open availability including weekends and holidays Minimum of 2 years cooking in a full-service restaurant Strong multi-tasking ability, with the ability to work well under pressure Positive and Professional Attitude Must be at least 18 years old Must present a Food Handlers card within 30 days of hire Must be comfortable with repetitive movements Must be able to walk, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, and twist for 4-12 hours/day Must be able to push, pull, or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
