Nurse Practitioner Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Pediatric Heart Acquisition Full Time 81460BR Job Summary The NP will work closely with the Pediatric Heart Failure & Heart Transplant Nurse Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant to care for patients requiring the breadth of inpatient and outpatient pediatric heart failure management; including mechanical circulatory assist device management, pre-transplant and post-transplant care. Specific duties include; being a contact for patients and families; medication orders and reconciliation, coordination of patient care and education, inpatient and outpatient clinical patient history, examination and assessment, diagnosis, planning and documentation; treatment implementation, coordination and continuity of care, pre transplant evaluation and UNOS wait listing, development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality of care; education of patients, families and other health care practitioners on the disease process, treatment options, and lifestyle modification. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: Required Qualifications Four (4) years of pediatric cardiology NP experience Two (2) years of recent NP experience with cardiothoracic transplant, heart failure, and VAD clinical experience Experience working with medically complex patient in acute care, or critical care settings Leadership or management experience (evidence of policy/protocol development, teaching, etc.) Preferred Qualifications DNP RNFA Procedural experience Multi-lingual Proficiency with EPIC or comparable eMAR License/Certification California driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Accepted Certifications for this position:CPNP-AC; internal candidates with required experience CPNP-PC, PPCNP-BC, FNP-C, FNP-BC) Link to UCSF NP Certification Table for reference: Acceptable NP Board Certifications Checklist 2.23.24.docx Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California. Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Current AHA BLS Current AHA PALS State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1 UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
