JOB SUMMARY: The Estimator is responsible for supporting the preconstruction effort for one or more disciplines, quantity survey, subcontractor solicitation, and independent research of specified items, including the determination of applicable project plans, specifications and supporting documentation. SALARY RANGE: $85,000.00 - $140,000.00 annually (companywide) BENEFITS: Group medical, vision, and dental insurance, including a choice of two benefit plans - a PPO plan and a High Deductible/ Health Savings Account plan with company contribution to HSA. Company-paid short and long-term disability plans, group life insurance, and AD&D plans. Untracked/unmeasured vacation. Sick leave accrued at 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with an annual carryover of 80 hours. 9 paid holidays each year. Paid parental leave. Annual discretionary bonus based on company profitability and your manager's assessment of your performance. A 401(k) savings plan under which BNB matches the first 3 percent of your deferral with a 100% match and the next two percent with a 50% match for a total matching contribution of 4% of your pay. You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (pre-tax) and Roth (post-tax) contribution options. It's 100% company-funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Internal Prepare consistently accurate, detailed, quantity surveys. Identify, research and obtain relevant information, through independent research, related to items for which they are tasked with quantifying or soliciting subcontractor proposals. Independently develop complete project cost estimate package for projects in a range up to $5m, depending on complexity. Owner / Architect Attend preconstruction meetings to learn project information and gain exposure to external customer interactions. Subcontractor Awareness of the local subcontractor community and ability to understand and differentiate capabilities of the subcontractors being solicited for proposals. Able to discuss project scope clearly and effectively during the subcontractor solicitation process. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree within the construction field. Excellent listening and communication skills. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (Timberline or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar). Careful attention to detail and resourcefulness in acquiring project specific information. Demonstrates a strong work ethic. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates ability to effectively manage multiple tasks under differing deadlines. Able to work flexible hours as needed or required by project or proposal deadlines. Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction.
