Summary: Assists, provides, and coordinates nursing care for patients to obtain and reach optimal health. Participates with the care teams in Summa Health to provide patient focused care. Is able to maintain and adapt to daily operations, interpret and execute provided instructions, and work reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment. Formal Education Required: a. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body Experience & Training Required: a. Current license to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio. b. Additional related previous experience may be required for various practices. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Knowledge of medical terminology. b. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR. c. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team and shows ability to be self-directed in executing responsibilities. d. Maintains HIPAA confidentiality. e. Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group. f. Ability to obtain BLS within Summa Health. g. Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies. h. Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease. i. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. j. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other health care professionals in exchanging information and assisting with patient care. k. Ability to communicate with patients, families, visitors and communicating representatives in assisting to achieve health care goals. l. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Level of Physical Demands: a. Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended time. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
