This team will be working side-by-side with Government managers who are focused on developing and deploying state-of-the-art investigative technological tools that support our intelligence and investigative priorities to combat counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cyber, and criminal activities. Clearance : Active TS/SCI. Location/Flexibility: Ft. Belvoir, VA Responsibilities: As part of a team of Network, System, and Software Engineers supporting a National Law Enforcement mission, the Systems Engineer shall provide technical leadership in the planning, investigation, design, and implementation of physical and virtualized infrastructure systems. The Systems Engineer shall design and engineer virtual infrastructure leveraging various Hypervisors, and VDI technologies to include Hyper-V, XenServer, ESXi, and VMWare. The Systems Engineer shall design, build, maintain, and support a variety of workstation and server images to include both Windows and Linux operating systems. The Systems Engineer shall design, build, maintain, and support automated system patching and software deployment. The Systems Engineer shall develop detailed network design diagrams and documentation. Primary Responsibilities: Design, build, maintain, and support automated system patching and software deployment Manage and monitor bandwidth and network asset conditions and utilization. Integrate new technologies with existing systems to enhance functionality, performance, and security. Work closely with other teams, including software developers, network engineers, and security experts, to implement solutions that meet organizational needs. Ensure that systems adhere to security compliance and best practices. Monitor and assess system vulnerabilities, conduct risk assessments, and work on threat mitigation strategies. Analyze system performance and ensure optimization for high availability, load balancing, and redundancy. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, minimizing downtime and service interruptions. Manage access controls. Required Qualifications: Clearance: Active TS/SCI Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Security, Computer Security, and/or Network Administration or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related scientific/technical field. eight (8) years of experience designing and engineering virtual infrastructure; building and supporting desktop systems using Windows operating systems; and designing workstation and server infrastructures for high latency, low bandwidth networks using satellite or cellular broadband technologies. Familiarity with VDI technologies to include Hyper-V, XenServer, ESXi, and VMWare Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems Ability to provide clear, accurate, and simple explanations of technical procedures and processes to audiences of varying degrees of technical proficiency. Ability to work in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or equivalent level of certification Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
