The Production Supervisor is responsible for the oversite of manufacturing and continuous improvement activities for an assigned manufacturing area and shift. The Production Supervisor will report to a Sr. Operations Manager and will have up to 25 direct reports. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the following duties:Coordinating cross-functional teams to maximize safety, quality, delivery and cost initiativesMeeting daily, weekly and monthly production requirements, metrics and goalsTraining, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforceIdentifying, initiating and maintaining process improvements, including efficiency improvements, scrap reductions and eliminating equipment downtimeLeading employee development and hold the team accountable on the assigned shiftManaging multiple project timelines simultaneouslyParticipating and leading Kaizen events to improve processes and eliminate wasteMonitoring and approving time keeping for hourly staffReviewing and scheduling material changes in the ERP system and making needed adjustmentsMaintaining manpower goals by working with staffing services and human resources to attract and recruit talentWorking with planning and shipping, making adjustments when neededAssisting with root cause analysis and establishing counter measuresCompleting shift reports and communicating with incoming supervisors at shift changeCoordinating safety and quality trainingCompleting on going training initiativesOther duties as directed by managementThis position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 80% of their day. Candidates should be energetic, have the ability to coach and mentor others, take ownership of projects, have good work history and enjoy floor presence. Problem-solving skills are required! This is a long-term off-shift position. Although rare, candidates should be willing to take off-shift calls as needed to answer any questions.Medical benefits are available day one of employment. A Bachelor's degree is preferred; a minimum of a high school diploma andor GED is required2. At least 2-6 years of RECENT manufacturing supervision experience3. Experience overseeing production, ideally in high-volume or mass-production environments4. Experience overseeing at least 15-20 individuals5. Non-union supervision experience6. Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in assigned manufacturing areas (examples include scrap reductions, elimination of downtime, etc.)7. Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and OutlookSkills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:1. GMP experience2. Mechanical aptitude3. Experience working in consumer products manufacturing4. ERP experience5. Process-oriented manufacturing environments6. Formal Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen trainingWhy work for this organization:1.
