POSITION SUMMARY: "Completes medication prior authorization for clinic patients in a timely manner. Utilizes Outcomes MTM to complete technician MTM services and schedule patients for pharmacist MTM services as needed. Ensures all Medicare Part D covered vaccinations are billed properly through Transact Rx as appropriate. Assists the clinic pharmacist in organizing flu clinics annually. Performs medication reconciliations upon requests. Works in coordination with providers, nurses, and other clinic staff to address medication issues and escalates to the clinic pharmacist as appropriate. Assists pharmacist implementing health initiatives at the clinic such as the MAP BP program or any new health initiative that may arise. Completes other tasks as assigned by clinic pharmacist." Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications for dispensing. Does not dispense any medication that isn't double checked by a registered pharmacist. Is directly responsible for running the pharmacy robot and maintaining stock in automated dispensing cabinets. Draws up doses in the IV class 10,000 clean room utilizing a class 100 laminar flow hood and aseptic technique. Performs pharmacy stock QA inspections on all nursing units. Makes delivery/pickup rounds to unit and departments and performs computer order entry functions. Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisors/pharmacists. Provides customer service by processing paper, electronic and phone requests for medications. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: High School diploma required. Some previous pharmacy related or hospital clinical background preferred. Preference will be given to nationally certified pharmacy technicians. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Pharmacy Tech I : Less than one year of experience, or 1+ years of experience without a Pharmacy Technician certification Pharmacy Tech ll: 1 year of experience and a Pharmacy Technician certification Pharmacy Tech lll: 1 year of experience and a Pharmacy Technician certification, and a specialty area of assignment ( trainer, automation expert, etc) MISSION STATEMENT: ·We, St Joseph's Health and Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities. Pay Range: $21.20-$30.75 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
