If our requirements fit your background, we want to talk with you!We value and promote the diversity of our workforce.This is an onsite position based out of our Newark, CA office, with a 2 day per week remote work option.RequirementsYOU NEED:BSME required, MSME preferredMinimum of 8 years of technical system-level design experience - from architectural definition to design to release to manufacturingProject Management experience leading a cross functional teamMechatronics expertise: motors, bearings, gear trains, belt drives, and sensorsExperience with motion control hardware including motors (steppers, servos, dc motors) and position sensors (encoders, limit switches etc.)Experience with end effector design is a plusMultiple projects designed, fabricated, and testedAutomation experience for industrial applications and manufacturing linesHands-on system bring-up and integration with a cross functional teamME analysis experience in kinematics, structural, thermal and tolerances,Materials and component selection expertiseProficient in Solidworks CAD and FEAExperience with life science instrument andor medical device design is a plusPLUS:Client interface capability and experienceHands-on practical performance in shoplab workDesign for manufacturability (highlow volume)Project and technical reportingUnderstanding of ISO 13485 (a plus)RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead a mechanical engineering team designing products with multiple, powered DOFs.Design, build and testing of systems and critical componentsBrainstorm, design, and compare potential product architectures against client metrics.Identify and perform critical engineering analyses and tests from concept evaluations to production verificationAssist client to define product specifications, schedules and resource planningManage project budget, schedule, and deliverables as the primary point of contact with clients.
