Customer Care Intern - Summer 2025 Location: Norfolk, NE, US, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Customer Care Intern - Summer 2025 located at Norfolk Customer Care Center in Norfolk , Nebraska. Position closes November 30 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or once the position is filled. Position Summary This is a temporary entry-level customer care position. Incumbent assumes primary accountability for customer relationships by assisting customers with after normal business hours with inquiries, requests, and outage calls. Education, Training and Experience The Intern must be enrolled in an accredited two"‘year or four"‘year college/university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units or eight quarter units with freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior standing in a related major and must maintain enrollment throughout the internship. The internship/training must be in the student's field of study. College credit may apply to some internships. Licenses and/or Certifications Not Applicable. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by providing knowledge-based solutions to customer issues that are in the best interest of NPPD and our customers. This includes account collections, requests, and outage calls. Ensure the integrity of information provided to customers by referencing specific procedures and reference documents. Effectively use NPPD systems such as SOS, CISCO phone system, and SharePoint to successfully complete assigned tasks. Follow NPPD safety processes and procedures. Accountable for other duties as assigned. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview. Pay Grade - 99 Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $18.00/hour Interns may be eligible for $1000.00 housing stipend. Travel Required: None Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
