A mental health clinic in Manhattan is actively seeking a compassionate and patient-oriented Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their staff. About the Opportunity Schedule : Part- and Full-time hours available On-Call: No Setting : Outpatient Patient demographics : 18+ Responsibilities The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP): Provides patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession Collaborates with the staff psychiatrist, the nursing staff, and technical personnel, as well as the counselors and outside providers to enhance better outcomes and care coordination Provides psychiatric health services, education, individual and group counseling and assessment, primarily onsite but through Telemental Health when indicated Refers patients for inpatient care, in collaboration with the staff psychiatrist, as necessary Issues medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines Administer injectable medications as clinically indicated Orders laboratory tests; interprets and explains the test results to patients Communicates with patients and engages in follow-up as necessary Qualifications Active New York State Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license 5+ years' experience as a licensed practicing NPP Comprehensive knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders to include dually diagnosed, and harm reduction Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment, including Methadone, Buprenorphine and Vivitrol Experience working with adults across age ranges to include -ages 18 to 100+ Comprehensive understanding of regulations and compliance requirements for documentation Desired skills Experience in a community-based nonprofit or other mission-driven organization that targets adult underserved populations
