Overview East Penn is currently seeking someone to work in our Continuous Improvement Department who will research trends and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities to close gaps and ensure growth. This position aides in the design, development and implementation of programs and processes through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, Problem Solving and organizational change methodologies and tools. The position provides support and assistance to assigned projects, acts as a resource, and works with stakeholders and process owners to support their initiatives, develop their process metrics, and improve their operations and processes. Responsibilities Researches, analyzes and consults on potentially complex business performance data. Identifies, documents, and delivers findings that can support process improvements, performance and/or customer experience improvements. Communicates recommendations, along with supporting research/analysis, regarding process improvements that reduce workloads and/or improves quality. Assists with designing future state operating models that address opportunities uncovered during current state analysis. Acts as a resource to stakeholders on identified process improvements that impact efficiency, departmental capabilities, and/or OEE ensuring that solutions meet business needs. Serves as Project Lead and/or supports cross-functional project teams as assigned. Maintains tracking, measurement and accountability programs for assigned initiatives. Provides timely updates to stakeholders regarding relevant information from other areas across the organization. Responds to inquiries and needs from other business units and divisions. Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions. Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. Conducts Run at Rates and completes Capacity Reports for OEM customers. Assists in the delivery of technical training. Supports the Internal Audit process and other quality systems initiatives. Perform other duties as required by quality management. *Maintains regular attendance. *Ability to work mandatory over time. Responsible for producing a high quality product. Qualifications Experience & Qualifications Required: Minimum 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred: 3 to 5 years of East Penn work experience that includes extensive knowledge of EP procedures and practices. 1-2 years of experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies Education/Certification Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, scientific, statistics, or mathematics discipline, preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered Preferred: Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies Project Management Professional certification Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification Skills & Competencies Required: Basic understanding and knowledge of OEE, FMEA, SPC, Capability Analysis, MSA Basic knowledge of project management best practices Advanced written and verbal communication skills Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to assess issues and escalate appropriately for resolution Exceptional interpersonal skills; a team player with proven ability to work across functional areas and all levels of the organization Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Self-motivated and self-directed; can effectively cope with ambiguity Proven ability to influence, motivate, and lead project team members to deliver projects successfully Is unafraid to respectfully challenge the status quo by providing new ideas and solutions Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Office, Excel Preferred: Advanced knowledge of battery manufacturing processes Advanced expertise in Excel (advanced formulas and pivot tables) Intermediate level expertise of descriptive and inferential statistics Basic knowledge of statistical software package Working knowledge of process flow diagrams/value stream mapping Working knowledge and ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies East Penn Benefits East Penn offers excellent benefits: Competitive compensation Group health insurance that includes high quality medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage with a low employee premium Retirement Savings Plan with company match and a 3% employer contribution 9 paid company holidays, 2 paid personal holidays, and 10 paid vacation days annually Employee assistance program Fitness Discounts Promotional opportunities
