Job Summary We are currently hiring a Network Engineer for our MIS Division, and our ideal candidate will possess a passion for impacting lives and our community. The primary purpose of this opportunity is to design, implement, monitor, and support the Staffmark data/voice network and security infrastructure. As a technical resource, the Network Engineer is responsible for the set-up and repair of network infrastructure, including the monitoring and diagnosis of network performance, and resolution of network-based incidents and requests reported to the Staffmark Service Desk, especially complex incidents requiring research and diagnostics. The Network Engineer maintains the data/voice network and security environments by adhering to and supporting Staffmark IT policies and procedures, and recommends process changes that improve the implementation, maintenance and support of network equipment. This position assists with project planning, strategic planning, 24x7 on-call support with other members of Staffmark IT staff, and may be required to supplement remote site-based, on-site support to technical resources. Essential Duties Your Day-to-Day responsibilities include activities such as: Independently direct and manage third party vendors and solution providers as needed. Design, implement, monitor and support WAN/LAN, Wireless-LAN, Security, VoIP and network related hardware/software. Research, evaluate, design and propose complex technology solutions to meet business needs cost effectively and I accordance with established standards. Participate in VoIP deployment projects that include gathering requirements, designing and implanting VoIP solutions. Determine appropriateness of hardware/software changes and/or modifications related to VoIP and Cisco routers, switches and UC servers Provide 24x7 on-call support-based Network Team staff rotation to assist with troubleshooting, coordinating, escalating ad resolving network and /or VoIP related issues Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Competencies Competencies we value for this role include Ethical conduct, thoroughness, detail-oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills, organized and have great time management. The incumbent will have 4-8 years of technology experience a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be CCNA/CCNP certified. An individual should have experience in tier 1-3 network support, Cisco routers, switches and firewalls. The individual should be experienced with VMWare, Cisco UC servers, Windows Server 2000/2003/2008, project management methodologies and possess the ability to work independently and make sound decisions while meeting time sensitive deadlines. One must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
