GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc.'s (GZA) Norwood, MA office is seeking an Entry-Level Engineering Geologist to join our team. The successful candidate must have a solid educational background and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude. The successful candidate will work with a fast-paced team of experienced engineering professionals for the technical execution of a large variety of building, tunnel, and other underground projects. In between working at field project sites, the employee will work in a professional office setting, preparing detailed and accurate field documentation, data analysis and reporting. They will be mentored by seasoned professionals, working in a collaborative environment to share technical knowledge and ideas. The position will provide an opportunity for a rewarding career working on interesting and challenging projects. Typical Duties May Include: Conducting subsurface geotechnical and geologic investigations Performing field geologic explorations including soils and bedrock mapping Performing field permeability testing and evaluations for infiltration facilities Performing outdoor, all-season, on-site geotechnical related construction monitoring field tasks such as fill construction, foundation installation observation and testing Writing drafts of field reports and geotechnical and geologic reports Providing geotechnical monitoring and using instrumentation to record vibrations, settlements, slope movements, water levels, and other critical geotechnical engineering data Reducing and summarizing geohydrologic and geotechnical data and preparing plans for inclusion in interpretive reports for clients GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.
