HDR is looking for a Senior Movable Bridge Engineer - Electrical to join our Virginia team in Virginia Beach. In this role, we'll count on you to: Participate in business development In-depth technical knowledge of control, power and operation systems of movable bridges Experience in diagnosing faults in industrial three phase power, motor, and relay control systems to include PLC, HMI and VFD's Actively participate in industry associations related to movable bridge design Works with program leadership and project team to coordinate the quality control deliverables of project teams Participate in QA/QC process and is committed to delivering world class quality Works independently and may mentor one or more electrical engineers or design staff Travel for team coordination, site visits and inspections are required within Virginia Perform on-site inspections of movable bridges Provide emergency response services Perform other duties as needed #LI-MJ1 Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline Proficient using analysis programs and electrical design software Experience on movable bridge design or inspection projects in bridge or related industry experience Experience training junior level staff Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree A minimum of 10 years bridge design experience Professional Engineer (PE) license. Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, GEOPAK, AutoCAD and MicroStation Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams Project management skills desirable Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of projects An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
