Position summary: The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting close process and accounts payable department for both facilities located in Wagoner, OK and Danville, VA. Additionally, the Controller will assist the VP of Finance with the preparation of the financial budgeting, forecasting, and other reporting demands. The ideal candidate, will have a strong accounting background that can multi-task, communicate at multiple levels and adheres to reporting deadlines. Key responsibilities include: Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions. Managing the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements Coordinating activities of internal auditors Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process Managing the budget process and forecasting processes Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes Evaluating accounting and internal control systems Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed Developing and monitoring business performance metrics Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff Qualifications, skills, experience and personal characteristics required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing accounting Ability to lead others, resolve problems and manage conflict in a positive and productive manner. Strong attention to detail and accuracy while adhering to tight deadlines. Familiar with GAAP and standard accounting practices Passion for growth and an understanding of the company's strategic goals Successful experience translating irregularities in the "numbers" to actionable opportunities or risk mitigation.
