Job Details Job Location Alabama - Statewide, AL Remote Type Fully Remote Description Contracted Host Home Provider - Alabama A Host Home Provider is an independent contractor who welcomes an individual with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities into their home to provide life-sharing residential support and a sense of family. The home offers a person-centered residence with a compassionate, skilled provider who assists with the daily needs and goals of the individual placed in their home. The support provided will help the individual live a healthy, quality, meaningful life allowing them to thrive. The Home Provider will receive ongoing training and support from the Inspiritus Disability Services Team. Details: 1099 Independent Contractor Department: Disability Services Compassionate caregiver Desire to work with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Partners with: Inspiritus Case Manager Home must be located in one of the Alabama Counties: Elmore, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Jefferson, Morgan, Limestone, Madison. Coming Soon - Mobile, Baldwin, and Houston counties! Compensation: Monthly Room & Board payment; Bi-weekly payment based on individual's level of care Responsibilities: Provide a safe environment for the individual(s) Follow a person-centered thinking approach and implement an individualized person-centered plan for the individual(s) As directed by the person-centered plan, provide Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, meal preparation, doctor appointments, medications and health support, shopping, etc. Engage the individual(s) in activities and events of their choice allowing for opportunities to learn, explore, experience, and contribute to their community Provide training and life skills development Advocate for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Support and respect their individual rights and privacy Assist the individual(s) as needed with money management and submitting receipts for purchases of their choice If needed, provide transportation to a day program or to work Remain in compliance with requirements such as, but not limited to, completing and submitting documentation, completing annual and other assigned training, maintaining a safe home environment, and maintaining a valid Georgia Driver's License Qualifications Qualifications: Must be at least 25 years old High School Diploma, GED, or higher education Valid Alabama Driver's License, auto insurance, and good driving record Reliable transportation with ability to transport safely Ability to pass background checks & drug screen Ability to pass a medical clearance & TB test Appropriate living environment with at least one available bedroom Must have a computer, printer, scanner and basic technology skills Excellent communication skills with ability to speak, read, write and understand English For more information go to: The Contracted Host Home Provider role detailed in this description is not a comprehensive list of all responsibilities that may be required for the successful completion of this role and may garner some circumstantial responsibilities deemed critical to meeting the requirements of the contract agreement. Physical Demands: Regularly required to talk and hear. Required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and controls, and reach with hands and arms. Required to operate personal vehicle. May require lifting 50 pounds or more (usually with the assistance of another person or Hoyer Lift). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
