Job Summary and Qualifications: General Statement of Duties: Performs HPC (Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell) product processing and supervises daily activities of Cellular Therapy Laboratory including operational quality control and quality assurance. With department leadership, resolves issues as they arise. Essential Job Functions: 1. Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, counseling, annual feedbacks, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance. Responsible for their employee's output and conduct. 2. Demonstrates knowledge of Peripheral Blood Stem Cell, Placental Cord Blood, and Bone Marrow processes with correlation of disease states and test results. Performs product processing and testing in compliance with FDA requirements and assumes accountability for accuracy of test results. 3. Understands and applies Quality Management procedures and principles. Communicates any relevant quality control and quality assurance issues to CTL Director, Program Director, the CTL Medical Director and Administrative Representative. Working with department leadership, designs quality control and quality assurance monitors/projects, reports findings, and takes corrective action. 4. Demonstrates pro-active problem solving skills to include identifying a problem and taking appropriate action; communicates necessary information to Laboratory Medical Director and transplant physician. 5. Reviews, writes or modified departmental policies and procedures. 6. Working with department leadership, develops, plans and implements policies and initiatives for quality assessment, quality management, performance improvement, and manages the IT/LIS and databases of the CTL. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself. 4. Completes other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics: 1. Education: Bachelor's Degree Required 2. Experience: 5 years of experience in Cellular Therapy or clinical laboratory 3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 4.
