Position Type: Technology Date Posted: 9/17/2024 Location: Genesee Intermediate Job Summary: The Virtual Learning and Services Lead oversees the work of several online learning programs, producing online training material as well as providing technical assistance to end-users of those programs. Communicates with district stakeholders regarding the use of such programs and applications. May assist with designing, coordinating, training, and implementing software solutions for team members and end users providing excellent customer service. Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to): Provide support and system administration of various district/GenNET virtual learning programs (e.g. GenNET Online, Live Distance Learning, GenNET Virtual, etc). Lead and organize virtual learning staff member meetings on a weekly/regular basis. Schedule virtual learning programs with use of a Student Information System. Market and promote virtual learning programs through various conferences as requested by TMS Leadership. Communicate with districts about virtual learning programs through online newsletters. Ability to work and lead work in a team environment. Acts as a primary point of contact for virtual learning programs within TMS. Provides lead support of special systems/applications (e.g. district communication platforms). Acts as a liaison between districts and district virtual learning staff members. Creates and develops documentation for department's use, coordinating with TMS leadership regarding guidelines for documentation and departmental processes. Mentors and guides other virtual learning staff members within the department. Assists in the creation of digital tutorials and tipsheets for district software. Provides reports and updates on ticket completion to TMS leadership related to virtual learning programs. Consistently models Win-Win Leadership. Other Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Minimum Associate's degree required. Bachelor's Degree in computer science, teaching, business or related technical field preferred. Documented /demonstrated related work experience may be considered. Documented/demonstrated current knowledge of virtual learning platforms and programs preferred. Experience: Two years of work experience providing end user support for PC application software, student information software (e.g. Edupoint Synergy) and/or related technical support experience with increasing responsibilities in a virtual learning environment preferred. Experience in the development, installation, training and support of software/hardware preferred. Experience providing daily customer service pertaining to computer systems preferred. Skills/Other: Demonstrated experience working with and training educational staff. Documentation experience, basic knowledge of hardware, software applications, and virtual learning platforms (e.g. Canvas). Ability to read and interpret technical instructions to assist users. Ability to deliver training to customers utilizing virtual, and stand-up oral and visual presentation techniques. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to solve problems logically. Ability to offer multiple solutions to application and operational problems and challenges. Effectively manage multiple tasks and demonstrate effective time management skills to meet deadlines. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including telephone communication. Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and to assimilate new knowledge quickly and effectively to incorporate the products and outgrowths of evolving technologies. Strong teamwork, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district and the constituent school districts in the service area. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a flexible work day and work week. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative operating procedures.
