About this Position The Electric Program Coordinator works under the general supervision of the Electric Director to ensure activities are as beneficial as possible for the department. They will provide a central focus for planning and implementing events for Edmond Electric. Their main focus will be coordinating outreach events, creating marketing campaigns, organizing/tracking Competitive Utility Program (CUP) training activities, and working with Electric customers on rebates and incentives. Responsibilities Develop, plan, and organize community events including budgeting, contracting, scheduling, and advertising Coordinate staff and recruit/train volunteers for set-up and tear-down of events Work diligently with internal and external customers to ensure public participation and event success Coordinate with the director to develop specific advertising avenues for the utility Promote events, programs, and facts about Edmond Electric through social media, print, digital media, and radio Keep all event materials current and available for use Establish and maintain effective working relationships with event organizers, citizens, and city personnel Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and track event finances including invoices, payments, and reports Coordinate onsite training opportunities with partnering energy agencies Track and document training for the Electric, Utility Customer Service, and Field Services employees to fulfill the requirements of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority's Competitive Utility Program (CUP) Continue professional development and ongoing education to maintain proficiency in the field Qualifications General knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college 3 years of related experience and/or training (experience in event planning, PR, or marketing principles preferred) Or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier Necessary Skills Advanced skill with Microsoft Word Intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to work with the public and City staff effectively Ability to learn other specialized programs required by the position Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or independently in a political arena Skill in handling a diverse and large workload Ability to set priorities of work based on the nature or source of the request Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Skill in coordinating and planning multiple projects and work activities Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines Ability and willingness to occasionally required to work beyond normal scheduled work hours Ability and willingness to occasionally travel locally or out-of-town to meetings, conferences, or seminars Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings Benefits Generous benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance Access to a dedicated primary care medical clinic at no cost to employees and covered dependents Generous time off, paid holidays, longevity rewards, and retirement benefits Paid parental leave Potential for bilingual pay A tangible impact to Edmond Electric and residents in the City of Edmond A dynamic and inclusive environment where your contributions are valued APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED.
