Director of Operations and Finance - Munger Place This position is responsible for leading the Business Office, Information Technology, Building Services, Communications and Production. This position has overall responsibility for the financial integrity of Munger Place Church. Reports To: Senior Pastor FLSA Status: Exempt Working Hours: This is a Full-time position that will work an anticipated 36 hours per week Anticipated Schedule: Monday- Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; Sundays 8:00 am - 12:30 pm During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the demands of the job. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services including Christmas Eve and Easter. A presence on occasional Sundays is also requested to ensure that one has firsthand understanding of the church culture. Job Responsibilities and Duties: T his position is expected to uphold confidentiality of all data, written, digital, or otherwise, regarding staff and the church's constituents. Specific responsibilities include: Leadership: Manage and develop staff, volunteers, and lay leaders effectively by providing feedback and fostering a collaborative environment under the guidance of the Senior Pastor. Demonstrate humility in words and actions and show empathy towards staff and church members which helps build trust and a positive culture. Handle conflicts constructively and maintain a harmonious work environment. Oversee the organization of church operations, including scheduling, event planning, and administrative tasks. Manage both the big picture and details, and make informed decisions that align with the church's mission and goals. Ensure the execution of ongoing feedback meetings and annual performance reviews. Business Office: Oversee outsourced accounting and human resources functions Review monthly financial statements Serve as staff liaison to Finance Committee and Personnel Committee, and participate in Church Council meetings Maintain relationships with Banks, Audit Firm, North Texas Conference, Attorneys, Insurance Brokers, Investment Managers, and other vendors Ensure that ministries are receiving the proper operational support to meet the needs of the church Prepare annual budget and projections Prepare all financial reports for the North Texas Conference Ensure the completion of the Annual Audit Oversee membership database system Manage Financial Giving process including pledges, collection of offerings, and production of giving statements Oversee counting of offerings on major Sundays (such as Easter and Christmas Eve) Maintain integrity of designated funds Information Technology: Ensure that IT systems deployed provide the proper support to meet the needs of the church Maintain relationships with outside vendors Oversee Capital Budget for information technology Building Services: Supervise Director of Building Services and Security Ensure proper Risk Management controls are in place, including security and operating hours Work with Director of Building Services and Security on Properties Committee and related activities Work with Director of Building Services and Security on Property and Liability Insurance Oversee Capital Budget for Building Services Communications and Production: Supervise Director of Communications and Production Ensure that worship venues are properly supported for all services and events Oversee Capital Budget for production technology Other duties as assigned Education and Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA desired At least 5-7 years of experience required Clear and concise communication skills required for coordinating with staff, volunteers, and church members. This includes both verbal and written communication skills.
